Q:Can I mount the SYCAIN batteries in any position?

A:Yes, because there is no fluid inside of LiFePO4 batteries. This gives you the flexibility to install the battery where it is best suited for your application.

Q:How long will it take to charge a lithium battery?

A:Our lithium iron batteries can be charged in as fast as 1 hour. Please refer to the data sheet for your particular model, to find the recommended charge rates. All of our data sheets are available on our website within the product section.

Q:Do the SYCAIN Batteries require periodic maintenance?

A:No, but an annual inspection is recommended by an authorized dealer to ensure maximum battery health and life.

Q:Do the SYCAIN Batteries require watering?

A:No, lithium-ion batteries do not require watering. They are completely sealed and produce no gas when charging. In addition, the electrolyte is made of organic solvents, so water should not be used.

Q:How do I determine the right lithium battery for my application?

Q:I want to upgrade to lithium iron phosphate batteries. What do I need to know?

Q:What types of lithium battery packs are there?

A:The most common types of lithium battery packs include lithium-ion batteries, lithium polymer batteries, and lithium cobalt oxide batteries. Lithium-ion batteries are widely used in mobile devices, lithium polymer batteries are used for thinner devices, and lithium cobalt oxide batteries are used for high-performance applications like electric vehicles.

Q:What is a lithium battery pack?

A:A lithium battery pack is a battery assembly made up of multiple lithium-ion battery cells. They are commonly used for powering mobile devices, power tools, electric vehicles, and more. Lithium battery packs have higher energy density and longer lifespan than traditional nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride batteries.

Q:Is the temperature of the operating internal temperature of the pack or the ambient temperature?

A:This is the internal temperature. There are temperature sensors inside the battery pack which monitor the operating temperature. If the temperature range is exceeded, the pack will automatically shut off until the pack is allowed to cool/heat to within operational parameters.

Q:Why my battery voltage drops significantly after being fully charged and left unused?

A:The self-discharge rate of lithium batteries is very low. When fully charged and not connected to any load, they can retain about 80% of their charge even after being stored for six months. If this occurs, it indicates potential damage to the battery cells or the Battery Management System (BMS), which cannot be repaired by customers themselves and requires the product to be returned for factory repair.

Q:Why my LiFePO4 battery is not fully charged?

A:If the battery is not fully charged, first confirm that you are using a proper charger. If the charger is working correctly, but the battery voltage still cannot be fully charged, it may indicate damage to the battery cells or BMS. In this case, customers cannot repair it themselves, and the product needs to be sent back to the manufacturer for servicing.

Q:How deep can a lithium iron phosphate battery be discharged?

A:LiFePO4 batteries can be discharged up to 100% without risk of damage. Make sure you charge your battery immediately after discharge. We recommend discharging be limited to 80-90% depth of discharge (DOD) to avoid the BMS disconnecting the battery.

Q:How does the rate of discharge effect capacity?

A:The rate of discharge for LiFePO4 batteries has virtually no effect on the delivered capacity. This is not the case with lead-acid batteries which have significantly reduced capacity of up to 50% as the rate of discharge increases.

Q:How do I prep my lithium battery for off-season storage?

A:It is recommended to store LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If batteries are stored for long periods of time, cycle the batteries at least every 6 months. For storage longer than 3 months, the recommended temperature range is 32°F to 77°F (0°C to 25°C).

Q:What behavior or environment will accelerate battery life loss or cause battery not to work?

A:1. The power required by the device exceeds the maximum load power of the battery

Q:How to prolong the battery life?

A:1. Do not overcharge and over discharge (very important).

2. We recommend charging in time when the battery power is lower than 20%.

Q:What is the expected life of a LiFePO4 battery?

A:Battery life is measured in life cycles and SYCAIN’s LiFePO4 is typically rated to deliver 3500 cycles at 100% depth of discharge (DOD). For the same application, a LiFePO4 battery can last up to 3-5X longer than a lead-acid battery.

Q:What is a BMS? What does it do and where is it located?

A:The BMS(Battery Management System)protects the cells from getting damaged — most commonly from over or under-voltage, over current, high temperature or external short-circuiting. All SCAIN batteries have a built-in BMS to manage and protect them against these types of issues.

Q:Grades and differences of LiFePO4 cells?

A:There are many grades of LiFePO4 cells .If the capacity, volume, yield and other parameters of the cell fully meet the customized standards, it is called A Grade cell.This is the highest quality cell in the industry, almost all new energy vehicle brands use this Grade of cell.

Q:Can Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries explode or catch fire?

A:LiFePO4 batteries have a more stable chemistry and are less prone to overheating, thermal runaway, or catching fire. Please rest assured that SYCAIN LiFePO4 batteries have an excellent safety record in the market. We are known for the exceptional safety, and there have been no reported cases of our batteries catching fire or exploding.
